Our annual Clergy Conference begins Thursday, May 11 at 5 pm and continues through Saturday, 3 pm, May 13, at St. Francis Retreat Center. This year’s conference will be dedicated to the ministry of Stewardship in our congregations. Along with this we will have time for discussions and worship with one another, hear from our bishop and reflect on diocesan life and business.

On Friday, from 9 am to 3 pm we are privileged to welcome Terry Parsons, Stewardship Officer for the Episcopal Church, for a Clergy Stewardship Event. Over the past ten years Terry Parsons has become well known throughout the church as a dynamic trainer and leader in the area of stewardship. She will lead the clergy to reflect on their own assumptions, perceptions, experiences and commitments personally and as “gate-keepers” in our congregations in this area of stewardship.

Friday late afternoon and evening will be devoted to continuing our discussions together on diocesan life and business.

On Saturday, 10 am to 3 pm we invite key lay leaders including Stewardship Chairs, Stewardship Committees, Wardens and Vestry members to join the clergy for a one-day Lay Leaders Training with Terry Parsons. The goal is to stimulate our vision about the foundational ministry of stewardship in our congregations. This is a unique opportunity to tandem these two areas of training with a well known leader. Rectors and Vicars, please communicate these dates with your lay leaders.

Cost:
The 2006 special line item on Stewardship enables us to subsidize part of the cost of this event so that it will be less than what clergy usually must pay for the Clergy Conference. Registration forms with specific costs will be sent soon. Please reserve the dates now.
