Nominees for Commission on Ministry - Clergy

A Commission on Ministry functions in a diocese to assist the bishop in making provision for the development and affirmation of the ministry of all baptized persons in the Church and in the world.

Constitution and Canons of The Episcopal Church mandate that “In each Diocese there shall be a Commission on Ministry (‘the Commission’) consisting of Clergy and Lay Persons. The number of members, terms of office, and manner of selection to the commission shall be determined by the Canons of each Diocese.” Title III. Canon I, II

1) What can I contribute?
I can contribute experience working with the COM; a deep passion for ministry, both Lay and Ordained; an healthy sense of humor; the perspective of a priest from a small parish in San Luis Obispo deanery; and an unique point of view.

2) Church activities
I serve on Dept. of Ministry in Higher Education and Commission On Ministry.  I have served on Standing Committee, Diocesan Council, Nominating Committee, Standing Committee, Diocesan Council, Nominating Committee, Youth Ministry Task Force, Ecclesiastical Trial Court and was Dean of San Luis Obispo Deanery.

3) What major issues face the church today?
Being relevant to the people, places, and time we live in; and having people in ministry, both lay and ordained, who understand and are passionate for the mission and ministry of Jesus Christ. Being on the prophetic and cutting edge of Anglicanism, without leaving it (Anglicanism) behind.
